He Really Is F--king Nuts

In a recent column by Georgie Anne Geyer:

...by all reports, President Bush is more utterly convinced than ever of his righteousness.

Friends of his from Texas were shocked recently to find him nearly wild-eyed, thumping himself on the chest three times while he repeated "I am the president!" He also made it clear he was setting Iraq up so his successor could not get out of "our country's destiny."

Couple these statements -- self-righteousness and "our country's destiny", both of which have specific religious connotations -- with the fact that Bush is a Christian Dominionist,[1] and what you get is a really scary situation. I don't believe in the "End of Times" or "Armageddon" or "Rapture", nor do I believe any right minded would... let alone believe that we in those times, however, I do believe that with the technology we have and the nut cases trying to wrest power from reasonable people, the idea that we could be headed for a catastrophic period in human history is sort of a self-fulfilling prophesy. In short, these people are dangerous and we need to marginalize them, mock them, and get them as far away from any sort of position of influence and power before it is too late.
